Turkey day is next week and that means… cakes and pie!

That’s right, I’m not ready to talk turkey. I’d much rather help make sure that your pies and baked goods are in order. Because if your Thanksgiving meal ends happy, it will be remembered as a happy meal.

I’m dropping gems here, people.

Tips

* Lets start with the basics: my 8 tips for how to make a homemade Thanksgiving pie. I shared this on Cool Mom Picks to demystify homemade pie. It’s not hard to do if you follow these easy steps. I promise.

To be honest, that post covers it all (what can I say: I’m thorough). If you’re feeling confident and just want some quick, useful links on holiday pies and baking here on One Hungry Mama—here you go:

* The low down on how to use baking powder and baking soda.

* Better baking with yogurt.

* How to prep pie dough ahead of time. As in make it now so that you don’t go crazy next week.

* A delicious guide to the most awesome mail order Thanksgiving pies in the country. It isn’t cheating when the pies are these delicious, with the Bon Appetit seal of approval, to boot.
