{12 Days of Yum} Oxo Giveaway!! [CLOSED]

Oxo giveaway

A winner has been selected: congrats to Julie! And thanks to everyone else for reading and joining in the fun.

Rummaging through my kitchen you’ll find more tools from Oxo than any other company. My guess is that you don’t need me to explain why. You already know that Oxo makes some of the most effective, comfortable, easy-to-use kitchen gear that money can buy. And I know that you guys love Oxo as much as I do.

Oxo was founded on a philosophy of Universal Design, a concept that anything that can be designed should be done so to be usable to the greatest extent possible by everyone, regardless of age, race, gender or physical ability. While it isn’t possible to design everything to be perfect for everyone, the idea is to create something that works well for the broadest spectrum of users. Oxo’s dedication to Universal Design—combined with their knowledge of housewares, intuition about what we need at home and, best of all, their sense of humor—are what make them so awesome.

That, and the fact that they want to give one of you an amazing holiday gift!

As part of the 12 Days of Yum, Oxo is graciously giving one of you lovely readers a baker’s package that includes:

* Their new Egg Beater (this is more fun to use that you can rightfully imagine—more on that below!)
Oxo Egg Beater

* Assorted Mixing Bowls with their signature grip on the bottom—essential!

* One 2.4 quart and one 1.5 quart POP Container

* A Multi Purpose Scraper & Chopper

* A 3 Piece Silicone Spatula Set (not pictured)

* A Silicone Pastry Brush (not pictured)

Pretty amazing, right?! And, of all things, I’m most excited for you to get your hands on the egg beater. Weird, but true! First off, I bet you don’t have one and, if you do, I can tell you that it’s not made like this one!

The Oxo eggbeater has an upright handle, their signature non-slip grip, easily removable beaters that make cleaning easy and a stainless steel bridge that extends slightly longer than the beaters so that you can rest the beater against the bottom to reduce arm strain (thank you unversal design theory!)! It seems like the kind of tool that’s cool just because Oxo made it, but I’ve tried my hand at one and found it to be way more useful than expected!

To be eligible to win, leave a comment by midnight on Saturday 12/17 telling me your absolute, can-never-live-without kitchen tool. Who knows, maybe Oxo will add it to their must-make list if they don’t make it already!

Good luck! And be sure to regularly check all of the giveaways in this series at The 12 Days of Yum HQ. (While you’re at it, take a peek at the One Hungry Mama 2011 Gift Guide. Yay for giving!)

*This prize package is valued at about $150.00 plus shipping and will be provided directly by Oxo to a winner in the U.S. selected by Random.org. This is not a traditional sponsorship in that I reached out to Oxo—not the other way around. Once the details of a giveaway were worked out, I received a free egg beater and set of mixing bowls as a thank you from Oxo. All opinions are strictly my own, thank you very much!

I could not function in the kitchen without my scale and timer (both OXO). Other kitchen essentials: my old blender, small prep bowls, cooks knives and cutting boards. I could go on and on, and find that so many of the items are from OXO.

  2. Without all my storage containers from OXO I couldn’t do anything good in the kitchen. Love them for storing my flours and sugars. When all done my baking I put them in my favorite OXO bowls with lids and they stay fresh forever…. Thanks for the chance for the giveaway……..

  3. Liz says:

If I could only have one tool it would be a chef’s knife, but there are many other essentials, especially when cooking & baking at this time of year. Offset spatula, rubber/silicone spatula, whisks, tongs, mixing bowls, fine grater, measuring cups and spoons, scale. I also adore cookie scoops and can’t bake without an oven thermometer. This is just what I was thinking about having used in the past week in the kitchen.

  4. Jon Lavallee says:

my most important kitchen tool is ……….wow, this is tough. i am going to have to go with my foodsaver. it vacuum seals all kinds of goodies for long term storage. mine is used primarily for meats. the foodsaver allows me to purchase in quantity and get food at better rates. plus i can cut a package open, remove a portion of what is being stored and then reseal the package. i have a brother and a sister who have followed suit after having seen mine. if OXO made one of these i am sure it would be top notch like everything else they make.

  5. Valerie says:

I can’t live without my Oxo mini measuring cup (4oz/4tbsp). It’s the perfect size for small liquid or dry measurements and I use it to scoop out all my dry ingredients too! With this, I can measure out everything with only one kitchen tool instead of getting several dirty. Thanks, Oxo!

  6. Diana Funk says:

  21. I could not live without my measuring cups! If I lose one, I lose it!

  22. Natalie J Vandenberghe says:

oh, my goodness! I don’t think I can name just ONE tool–there’s so many I need in order to function properly. A sharp knife, a good spatula, a can opener, measuring cups & spoons, the list goes on. I love these fabulous kitchen tools from OXO. and, you’re right, my egg beater isn’t like that one (which I’d love to have). Thanks for the giveaway.

  29. Jeni Mitchell says:

This is a hard question…it’s a toss-up between my OXO Smooth Edge Can Opener and my OXO 4″ Mini Santoku Knife. Both are priceless to me and always within reach. I use both daily and would be completely loss without them. I have learned that one can never have too much OXO in their home and that a happy home is an OXO home!

  30. Amber S says:

I can’t live without my knife. I’ve cooked at other places and it’s by far the tool I miss the most when I’m stuck with a dull knife, lol. Thanks for the giveaway!

  31. Christine S. says:

I definitely cannot bake without my silicon mat! Baking cookies, baking caramel popcorn, making chocolate garnish… it all goes through my handy silicon mat. Cannot live without it!

  32. Ken says:

    Strainer

  33. Priya says:

Thanks for a Nice giveaway!! A Kitchen tool that I absolutely use everyday would be a Knife/cutting board. I like the quality of OXO tools and I use their OXO swivel peeler frequently…just love it and would not like to be without it!!

  34. Meghan says:

My knives–a few years back, a friend gave me a set of nice, heavy knives. I was at my mother’s house recently using her knives, and it made me realize how much I’ve come to rely on mine!

  35. MaryBeth says:

My santoku knife – it’s the best!

  36. Wehaf says:

Definitely my chef’s knife; I use it for everything! A really good, large saute pan is a close second.

I cannot live without knife! thank you for the chance, :)

  38. Regina B says:

Oh, there are a bunch of tools I need in the kitchen, but a must have are my measuring cups/spoons. I can’t seem to eyeball anything!

  39. Shelley says:

Life in the kitchen (and elsewhere for that matter) would not be the same without OXO utensils such as the potato peeler, the airtight POPs, angled measuring cups, and brushes that seem to last forever. But one of the greatest items I have ever purchased is a funky pair of OXO scissors: one side resembles a regular scissor and the other side is flat. These have a safety lock when not being used. An EXCELLENT product which is what one can expect from OXO’s products.

  40. Erin says:

I would love to have this set! What an amazing giveaway! My favorite kitchen tool is my cheapo plastic mandolin. It was about $10 at our local Asian grocery, but it has served us very well.

  41. Lavi says:

I can’t live without my whisk!

  42. Tanya M. says:

My husband does most of the heavy-duty cooking in our house, but a surprisingly useful gadget that we got as a gift is the onion chop-wizard. (You slam the top down on the food and the sharp grid slices it all at once.) Salsa in 2 minutes!
