Choose between your favorite summer desserts no more!
My intention with this Peach and Cherry Crumble Pie is to free you of the unnecessary agony of having to decide between pie, crumble and cobbler.
Yes. It actually agonizes me to choose sometime. (Do not judge.) Not always. I appreciate the beauty of a simple, classic double-crust peach pie. But, other times, I want it all. And this pie proves that having it all is not overkill.
This peach pie—with cherries thrown in for good measure—is topped with an extra large crumb reminiscent of a cobbler topping (inspired by Dana Treat) instead of a second layer of crust. Flaky on the bottom, sweet cardamom-flecked fruit in the middle and billowy clouds of cinnamon dough on top: this pie is unbeatable.
I know you want it all this weekend. So grab the recipe for my Peach and Cherry Crumble Pie (can be shared with kids 12+ mos)* at Momtastic, hit the farmer’s market and enjoy. No choices necessary.
*Note: While there is nothing in this pie that can’t be shared with kids younger, I recommend it starting at 12 months due to the relatively high sugar content. No matter who you choose to share this with, serve age-appropriate portions. A little of this sweet treat goes a long way!
Thank you for putting me out of my agony! This looks amazing!
Love the peaches and cherries together. Thanks for the great recipe!
This is definitely the way to go! I’ve never understood the allure of double crust pies but I would be all over this one. We have cherries in season here but still waiting on the peaches. Wonderful job!
