{green your eats} Natural Easter Egg Dye

Natural Easter Egg Dye

I love my blogger friends. They support projects like Peko Peko: A Charity Cookbook for Japan; they post awesome recipes here while I’m on vacation; they inspire me with their own mouthwatering recipes (hello Ricotta Fritters!); they remind me that I can take on any kitchen project, even curing bacon at home; and also that, if I allow them to be, my kids can be completely fearless about food, too; they work tirelessly to inspire food mindfulness; and they come up with great ideas for greening your food and food fun. (How amazing are these people?!)

My latest favorite thing from a food blogging friend is this how-to naturally dye Easter eggs from Michelle of What’s Cooking with Kids.

That’s right, folks. Those in favor of natural food dyes are not party poopers, after all. We even like fun colors and Easter eggs. Michelle’s practical and easy how-to…

is proof. A must-read if you’re dying eggs this year.

You’ll be hearing more about Michelle, soon. She recently published her first cookbook, The Whole Family Cookbook, a celebration of locally grown foods, and I cannot wait to try one of the recipes. When I do, I’ll happily report back, so stay tuned!

What ingredients do you use to create natural food dyes?
