I’m aware that I mentioned having big news almost a week ago. I’m also aware that I haven’t said anything since. I wish it were as sexy as me being a tease but, actually, I’m just (wah wah) busy.
But better late than never, right? I’m excited to finally tell you lovelies that I’m the newest food contributor on fab family site Momtastic! Remember them? It all started with this article on Making Gnocchi with Kids. While writing it, I fell in love with the people with whom I was working and, more importantly, with the site. Even though I was swamped, I committed to finding a way to make something happen at some point in the future. I had no idea how or when, but then something unexpected — serendipitous — happened.
Just days before I was due to check in with an editor at Momtastic, my editors at The Family Kitchen and I decided to part ways. (That’s right, folks, if you haven’t already noticed, there’s some more news for ya: I’m no longer a staff blogger for The Family Kitchen.) It was a tough decision for me, but came after a few days of back and forth and some soul searching.
See, I was so honored to be offered a position at Babble that I said yes without thinking about what it really meant to post on a blog there everyday, while also trying to maintain One Hungry Mama. Though I still miss aspects of being at the Family Kitchen — like working with great folks — now I have time to write here more, send you out less and work on more carefully considered contributions to other sites. Like Babble, where I still hope to contribute food features from time to time. And like Momtastic. The idea is to work with other sites you’ll like to serve up new One Hungry Mama content that compliments my content here, doesn’t compete with it.
You’ll find a new One Hungry Mama piece at Momtastic the 1st, 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month. My hope that you’ll love Momtastic as much as I do. Let me know what you think, now and along the way.
