{news} OHM Teams Up With Healthy Child Healthy World

September 29, 2010

Do you guys know about Healthy Child Healthy World? If you do, I’m sure you love their work as much as I do. If you don’t, I’m honored to introduce them to you.

The mission of non-profit Healthy Child is to ignite “a movement that inspires parents to protect young children from harmful chemicals.” They publish tons of great info (and a book) that help parents understand the impact of environmental hazards on children’s health; bring attention to healthier practices, solutions and products; are working to create standards for safer products and foods; and advocate for corporate policies and legislation that protect children from environmental risks.

They are wonder organization, truly working to make the world a better and safer place for families. And, as you know, I’m working to make the world a more delicious place for families. So, I couldn’t be more excited to let you know that we’ve teamed up. Because better, safer and more delicious are perfect together!

We’re launching our relationship by making a steady stream of One Hungry Mama recipes available on the Healthy Child Healthy World site. Most of the recipes are from my archive. I dug deep for most, so I hope that many will be new to you. But, even if they aren’t, there is new content worth going for. The Healthy Child signature is “clean it, green it, make it fun.” Every recipe has three new sections where I’ve provided tips and ideas for making sure that you use the best, most chemical-free ingredients available, that your cooking makes as small a carbon footprint as possible (easier and more practical than you can imagine), and gets the kiddos involved in the kitchen.

My first recipe, up today, is for crazy delicious Herbed Turkey Burgers. Most recipes won’t be so recent, but this one’s too good not to share far and wide. And, again, take a visit to see how these burgers can be green, clean and made fun!

Stay tuned for more from One Hungry Mama and Healthy Child Healthy World. And, please, if you aren’t familiar with Healthy Child Healthy World, visit their site. I promise it’ll become a go-to resource.
