{news} Similac Recall, Gourmet Live App & Kids Watching Cooking TV

September 24, 2010

I haven’t posted specifically about food news in a while, but there’s lots to report on this week!

Most importantly, if you haven’t already heard, Abbott, the makers of Similac formula, have voluntarily recalled nearly 5 million containers of powdered formula. Here is an exhaustive list of recalled lot numbers, or you can type in the lot number on the bottom of your container(s) at www.similac.com/recall/lookup. Be sure to type in the numbers of every individual container in your possession. Read more about the Similac recall here.

On a happier note, Gourmet magazine has been reinvented as a free iPad app. Here you can read all about the highly anticipated Gourmet Live app, which launched to much fanfare last night.

And last, but not least, here’s a great article about kid watching food shows. The piece, “Kids Hungry for TV Cooking Shows”, ran on fab parenting site ParentDish and features yours truly. (Those of you who’ve been following One Hungry Mama already know about our family’s love for Lidia Bastianich!) It’s a fun read with input from thoughtful experts.
