You Hungry? C’mon In!

WELCOME to One Hungry Mama! I’m so excited to finally have you—and all of my ChowMama content—here. You hear that? It’s me. The Hungry Mama (aka @OneHungryMama on Twitter). Hooting and hollering! This has been a long time coming.

If you don’t know the story, you can get caught up here. But, since you’ve already made it to One Hungry Mama, all you really need to know is:

FROM TODAY ONWARD, I’LL BE BLOGGING HERE. AND HERE ONLY!

To get started… (more after the jump!)

…quickly read over my About page. Yes. Even if you’ve been following ChowMama for a while. I’d love for you to know where I’m coming from today. It’s really different than where I was coming from when I started ChowMama.

As for what to expect: well, more of my delicious, family-friendly recipes, of course! Along with quick tips, best tools and food news that every family cook needs to know. Instead of saving these tidbits for a Weekly Digest the way I did on ChowMama, I’ll be throwing things at you as I come across them. Just look for these post titles:

{cravings} products I love that are delicious or make cooking easier and more fun
{feeding hacks} unexpected cooking tips that save time or money
{food for thought} food news relevant to raising healthy families
{green your eats} resources that help you cook & eat more sustainably
{kitchen aids} must-have family kitchen tools

I’ll post a brand new recipe this Wednesday but, in the meantime, poke around. (Just keep in mind that I’m still working out some kinks!) There are tons of new features: you can search by age, ingredient or type. You can peruse my store. You can print formatted recipes!!

And, of course, I couldn’t leave you hungry people without food. Check out these One Hungry Mama all-star recipes. If you’re new to me, these dishes give a sense of what my cooking’s all about. If you’re not new, well, have you ADDED these to YOUR RECIPE BOX? You read right: you can sign in and save your favorites to a recipe box. Booya!

I hope you’re already in love with One Hungry Mama. I worked hard to try and give you the best family food resource possible. Let me know if you find one of those kinks I was talking about or if you have an idea, tweak or comment about how I can make One Hungry Mama better. I know you’re hungry, too, so this place is for you.

Love,
Stacie

Butternut Squash & Avocado Quesadilla (6+ mos)
*these quesadillas have a fresh flavor that goes perfectly with kid-friendly fruit salsa made with avocado and mango or pineapple. that means this dish packs veggies, fruit AND a touch of dairy in one delectable, tortilla-wrapped package. plus the butternut mash can be served (on it’s own) to your littlest eaters. can you get better than that?

Moroccan Chicken with Green Olives & Artichockes (8+ mos)
*delicious slow cooked flavors accomplished in less than an hour thanks to a wonderfully aromatic combo of spices.

Polenta “Creamed” Spinach (8+ mos)
*i can’t get enough of this recipe. i developed it as a side for steak that would complete my steakhouse meal, while giving me a healthy, satisfying dinner for my non-steak eating toddler.

Sweet Potato Muffins with Cream Cheese Filling (8+ mos)
*these are a go-to recipe whenever I need to serve a healthy snack for anyone from first time finger food eaters to older kids and adults. there’s always a bag of these stashed in my freezer—a few seconds in the microwave and they are as good as new.

10-Minute Blueberry Almond Morning Polenta (10+ mos)
*selected by Amanda Hesser & Merrill Stubbs to be in the food52 cookbook! this is a seriously quick and amazingly delicious meal that earned 5 starts by the cooks on food52. what more to say?

Kale Chips (10+ mos)
*with so many recipes floating around for kale chips (aka roasted kale, kale crisps, crunchy kale…), why mine? because of the cider vinegar! it gives a little tang that makes a world of difference. irresistible.
