  • Renegade lunch lady Ann Cooper launches a new school lunch website, The Lunchbox, with budget models, menus and loads of recipes (via TED)
  • Dairy run off in our tap water (ewww!)—plus a series of great NY Times articles by Charles Duhigg on the need for better government regulation, oversight and enforcement of clean water laws (via The Ethicurean)
  • The Gaurdian‘s 50 best foods in the world and where to eat them (including several places in the states, 4 in my home NYC!)

  • Be sure to check Literary Food Porn, a charming blog that discusses food scenes in literature (via Apartment Therapy)
  • While you’re at it, check out this hysterical Marshmallow Temptation Test video (part of a study on delayed gratification) to see what happens when you put kids in a room with hidden cameras and a marshmallow!  (via Serious Eats)
  • Studies suggest that we underestimate the content of restaurant food by 600 calories. Check this (very addictive) site to see if you fall victim—it compares your guess, the average guess and actual calories for chain restaurant foods.
